Conference call: Women's courage under persecution

Oct 02 2009

Release International is inviting women to be inspired by the courage, strength and faith of their Christian sisters around the world who suffer persecution.

Release is staging a one-day conference for women called Sharing Spiritual Treasures.

It's being held on Saturday October 24 at St Michael's Church, Chester Square, London SW1W 9EF.

Release says: 'We will be looking at the cost our persecuted sisters pay for their faith, the privilege we have of supporting them, and the challenge of becoming increasingly involved with them.'

The conference theme is 'Far above Rubies' from Proverbs 31:10.

A highlight of the conference will be the new book by Eritrean gospel singer Helen Berhane, who was imprisoned for her faith in a shipping container in the desert.

Helen was beaten severely. To go free, all she had to do was renounce her faith in Jesus. She refused and stood firm in her faith. Helen tells her moving story in her new biography 'Song of the Nightingale'.

The conference runs from to Tickets are £7. For further details, please call Release at 01689 823491 or email info@releaseinternational.org
