Gao is alive – but still not free.

Following international pressure, confirmation has come from China that human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng is alive. Gao, who defended house church leaders, was abducted by the authorities in 2009. Release and Christian Solidarity Worldwide hosted a joint news conference in London to keep up the pressure on China.

Several days later, news came that Gao was still alive. Release and its partners will keep up pressure on China to allow Gao to join his family in the US.
